I was aware of the benefits of apprenticeships due to research I had completed beforehand, which strengthened my determination of choosing an apprentice career path. When starting with JACE I completed training that further expanded my level 2 functional skills. Around this time, I also started driving lessons and passed my test! This gave my confidence such a boost and I enjoyed being independent.
An alternative route to pursue my career was by completing an apprenticeship. Looking back, at my chosen career path I am very proud with what I have achieved since then. Gaining my Level 2 Early Years Educator at the age of 17 led me to complete my Level 3 Early Years Educator. I was able to accomplish this whilst being employed full-time at the nursery. I am a highly motivated individual and feel my achievements have allowed me to enhance my independence and experience with exceptional skills including working on own initiative under a busy setting. This could also be on occasions working as part of a team. To anyone considering an apprenticeship as a starting point to an ongoing success I would strongly recommend pursuing this career path due to the development of experience acquired.
In my current role with JACE I have a variety of tasks that are cover. These consist of taking calls at the centre, replying to email enquiries, booking interviews with students, competing risk assessments and attending meetings. As I’m new to the world of Business Administration, at the start I did find coursework and answering questions difficult, however I’ve gained a lot of experience since starting in January. If I come across a section in my coursework that does not seem clear, my colleagues and centre manager are always happy to offer help.
What I enjoy most about my role is meeting new people, managing my own time, tasks and deadlines. I am also given time during the day to work on my coursework If I want to which enables me to balance my work life and study.
When I complete my Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship, I would like to go on to further training and develop skills for my next adventure. An interest for me is to become an assessor, supporting others in their apprenticeship and help them succeed in their careers.
